We are proud to announce Dr. Corinna Lau, of Perspectives Physical Therapy, has earned the Certificate of Achievement in Pregnancy and Postpartum Physical Therapy (CAPP-OB) from the American Physical Therapy association (APTA).

Earning this certification is an incredible achievement and a testament to her dedication and commitment to providing the highest quality of care for her patients.

The CAPP-OB certification requires specialized instruction and hands-on clinical experience in pelvic health conditions during pregnancy and postpartum, as well as the evaluation and management of pelvic pain, obstetric complications and obstetric specific modifications for treatment.

This rigorous certification is only given out after a comprehensive exam consisting of both written and practical components which evaluates the applicant’s knowledge of obstetric physical therapy treatment techniques, patient management skills, critical thinking abilities, ethical reasoning abilities, as well as their overall clinical judgment.

What is CAPP-OB?
With this certification, Dr. Lau is among a select group of clinicians capable of providing specialized care for pelvic health issues related to pregnancy and postpartum, allowing her to help women suffering from pelvic floor dysfunction, pelvic pain, incontinence and other pelvic health issues.
At Perspectives Physical Therapy, we strive to provide the best possible care for our patients by staying ahead of the curve on all the latest treatments and technologies available in physical therapy. Additional certifications gives Dr. Lau an advantage over other clinics that may not have access to such advanced training or expertise. It also ensures that her clients receive high quality treatment protocols tailored specifically to their needs—something that can only be achieved with up-to-date education in the field of physical therapy.

We are thrilled to announce Dr. Corinna Lau’s certification of achievement in pregnancy and postpartum physical therapy (CAPP-OB) from APTA! If you have any questions regarding pelvic health during pregnancy or postpartum, please don’t hesitate to contact our office.
